Antonio Ramos

2018/19 Artist In Residence

Antonio Ramos was born and raised in Puerto Rico where he trained in jazz, salsa and African dance. His choreography has been produced at a wide variety of NYC and national venues. Most recently, he presented work at the American Realness Festival at the Abrons Arts Center and was commissioned to present the world premiere of his latest work at Dixon Place in Manhattan. He received a grant from the Edward and Sally Van Lier Fund through Movement Research and was recently a nominee for the United States Artist Fellowship and the Alpert Award in Dance. Most recently, he premiered new productions at JACK in Brooklyn (THIRSTY MIND, 2016) and under commission from Dixon Place in Manhattan (ALMODOVAR DYSTOPIA, 2017.)
